Jesus Christ: the Word, the Life, and the Light

“In the beginning was the Word…In Him was Life, and that Life was the Light of men.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Word, the Life, and the Light. He is everything for us. Christ, as the Word, is God’s Way of transferring Himself. A word is a communicated thought. A word is something, from within us, that comes out. To listen to someone speak is to hear what is inside of them.

But, God’s Word is much higher than ours. In His Word is eternal Life, and His Word is eternal Life. God’s Word is like a seed. Inside this Seed is the Life. Without the Seed, there would be no way for God’s Life to be spread. Christ is the real Seed.

When this Seed of Life, or Word of Life, enters into us, it illuminates us. The Seed brings the Life into the darkness of the soil, and the divine eternal Life is transferred. The Seed and the Soil become One Plant. This Plant needs the Light every day to grow. The Light is its strength, the Light is its Life. Christ is the Light of Life.

So, we the dead soil, have become living Plants, in Christ. Christ has been transmitted to us as the Word, He has become the Life within us, and He is the Light that shines upon us every day. We just receive Him and we grow with His growth, to enlarge Him, to share Him, and to express His glory.
